Osborne received his BFA from Pratt University, NY, graduating cum laude. His
principal painting instructors were Alban Albert and Arthur Maynard. He is
currently artist in residence and senior instructor at the Ridgewood Art Institute in
Ridgewood, NJ.
Osborne's paintings, which he describes as "small moments of nature" are most
notable for their keen handling of light and their attention to atmospheric effects.
His independent landscape studies have taken him throughout North America and
Europe - his works convey this direct study of nature in all of its many moods.
Osborne's paintings have been commended with many Best in Show awards
including the Hudson Valley Art Association's Gold Medal of Honor and the
Association's highest honor - Artist in Special Tribute. His teaching and painting
philosophy, which reflects over thirty years experience, has been featured in cover
articles in American Artist and Palette Talk Magazines.
Osborne's paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections and are
exhibited internationally at American Embassies in Europe, Africa, Asia and
South America.
