Known for his bold use of color, expressive brushwork, shimmering water
reflections and luminous lighting, Mizerek paints on site deriving inspiration from
coastal locations throughout the world. Mizerek was born in born in Philadelphia and received his BFA from Virginia
Commonwealth University. He continued his studies at the Art Students League
and National Academy of Design in New York. Leonard is an elected member of
The Guild of Boston Artists and a Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists.
He has exhibited twice in the National Academy of Design in New York.
His work is in major corporate collections and in the permanent collections of
The Forbes Museum in New York City and the Museum Yvonne Jean-Haffen in
Dinan, France.
